LOOKING INTO THE RIGHT MIRROR
Scripture:
"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." — Psalm 139:14
Have you ever looked into a mirror and immediately noticed everything you didn't like?
We often do something similar spiritually. Instead of seeing what God has created, we focus on everything we believe is wrong with us. We see mistakes. Failures. Weaknesses. Regrets. We remember things we wish we could change.
But God sees something different.
David declared that he was fearfully and wonderfully made. That wasn't arrogance. It was recognition that the God who created him does not make mistakes.
Your life isn't an accident.
God knew you before anyone else knew your name. He knows your strengths and weaknesses, victories and failures, and even the struggles you haven't told anyone about.
And He still loves you.
The problem comes when we allow our experiences to become our identity. You may have failed, but failure isn't your identity. You may have struggled, but your struggle isn't your identity. You may have been rejected, but rejection isn't your identity.
Your Creator gets the final word about His creation.
When you look into the mirror today, don't simply ask, "What do I see?"
Ask something greater:
"God, what do You see?"
You may see a mess.
God sees someone He is still shaping.
You may see broken pieces.
God sees what those pieces can become in His hands.
