Holy Living in a Waiting World

Scripture:
2 Peter 3:11–14

¹¹ Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, ¹² Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? ¹³ Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. ¹⁴ Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Devotional:
Peter asks a powerful question: "What manner of persons ought you to be?"

Because this present world is temporary, believers are called to pursue holiness and godliness. Our lives should reflect the reality that we belong to another kingdom.

Holiness is not merely avoiding sin; it is actively pursuing Christlikeness. It means aligning our thoughts, attitudes, words, and actions with God's character.

The world often encourages believers to blend in. Peter calls us to stand out. While we wait for Christ's return, we should be known for integrity, purity, compassion, and devotion.

The anticipation of heaven should produce transformation on earth.

Father, make me holy in my conduct and faithful in my witness. Help me live in a way that honors You while I wait for Your return. Amen.
