Your Future Self Needs Today's Wisdom

Scripture: “The prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself...” — Proverbs 22:3

Imagine being able to sit down with the person you will be five years from now.

What would that person thank you for doing today?

Perhaps they would thank you for saving instead of spending everything. Maybe they would thank you for taking care of your body, investing in your marriage, spending time with your children, developing a stronger prayer life, or walking away from something that was slowly controlling you.

Now consider another question:
What might your future self wish you had changed?

Wisdom considers tomorrow while making decisions today.

We live in a culture built around immediate satisfaction. Buy it now. Eat it now. Watch it now. Respond now. Get what you want now.
Godly wisdom teaches us to look farther down the road.

Not everything that feels good now will be good later, and not everything difficult today will remain difficult forever.
Sometimes saying “no” today is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself tomorrow.

Life Application: Before making an important decision today, ask, “Where could this choice take me if I continue making it?”
