The Word Became Flesh

Scripture
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” — John 1:14 (KJV)

The miracle of Christmas is that God Himself chose to step into humanity. Jesus, the eternal Word, was not merely created in Bethlehem; rather, He was revealed to the world. The One who spoke the cosmos into existence opted to enter our world as an infant. Rather than being wrapped in royal robes, He enveloped Himself in human flesh. He dwelt among us—fully God, yet fully man.

He did not merely observe our struggles from afar; He immersed Himself in them. He experienced hunger, fatigue, sorrow, and rejection. Because He chose to come near, He understands what you are facing today. Christ is not a distant figure; He is wonderfully present in your life, offering solace and support.

Christmas serves as a poignant reminder that God does not remain far removed from our pain. Instead, He draws near, walks alongside us, and calls us to behold His glory in the fabric of our everyday lives. Embracing this truth can transform our perspective on our circumstances and instill hope in our hearts.

Application Questions
  1.  How does knowing Jesus “dwelt among us” comfort you today?
  2.  Where do you need to sense Christ’s nearness in your current season?

Prayer
Lord, thank You for coming close. Help me see Your presence in my daily life. Let Your nearness bring peace, strength, and comfort. Amen.
