Unto Us a Child Is Born
Devotion by Pastor Shane - December 3, 2025

DAY 3 — Unto Us a Child Is Born
Scripture:
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given…” — Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
Christmas reveals the greatest gift ever given to humanity—God’s own Son. Isaiah proclaimed that this Child would bear the weight of the world’s needs upon His shoulders. He would be known by many exalted titles: Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. No other name carries such depth, authority, and hope as His.
This Child born in Bethlehem was anything but ordinary. He came with a purpose—to rule, redeem, restore, and reconcile. His mission was to bring peace to troubled hearts and direction to wandering lives. Christmas serves as a poignant reminder that God meets us in our needs through the profound identity of Christ.
When you celebrate Christmas, you are celebrating the One who reigns forever. His kingdom is unshakeable, and His peace is everlasting. This season invites you to reflect on the significance of His rule and the comfort that comes from His presence in your life.
Application Questions
1. Which name of Jesus in this passage comforts you the most today?
2. How does understanding Christ’s identity change the way you approach your struggles?
Prayer
Father, thank You for giving Your Son. Help me rest in who Jesus is and trust His power in every area of my life. Amen.
