The Glory of the Incarnation
Devotion by Pastor Shane - December 5, 2025

DAY 5 — The Glory of the Incarnation
Scripture:
“And we beheld his glory…” — John 1:14 (KJV)
When Jesus was born, heaven’s glory was wrapped in profound humility. His manger, though not majestic or grand, became a place of divine significance due to His presence. Those who gazed upon Him did not merely see a child; they witnessed God’s glory revealed through grace and truth. This contrast invites us to reflect on the nature of divine glory.
The world often seeks glory in power, success, or acclaim. Yet, God chose to display His glory through sacrifice, simplicity, and unconditional love. The incarnation teaches us that God's glory is not always loud or ostentatious; sometimes, it is found in the lowly and the gentle. This perspective allows us to see the sacred in the ordinary.
Christmas invites us to behold Christ’s glory with renewed wonder and appreciation. When we truly see Him for who He is, our worship flows naturally, and our gratitude becomes uncontainable. Allow this season to inspire you to worship Him more deeply and to express your thankfulness for His incredible gift.
Application Questions
1. Where have you seen God’s glory displayed in unexpected ways?
2. How can you behold Christ more intentionally this Christmas season?
Prayer
Lord, open my eyes to behold Your glory in Christ. Help me see the beauty of Your humility and respond with heartfelt worship. Amen.
