The Real Battle!
Devotion by Pastor Shane - June 6, 2025
Scripture:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
As believers, we must understand that our greatest struggles are not with people, politics, or physical circumstances—they are spiritual. Paul reminds us that the real battle is not against “flesh and blood,” but against a powerful and organized force of evil working behind the scenes. These unseen enemies—principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness—are constantly at work to oppose God’s truth and hinder God’s people.
This verse doesn’t call us to fear, but to awareness and preparation. Spiritual battles require spiritual weapons. We must be clothed in the whole armor of God, walking in truth, righteousness, faith, and the Word of God, because victory is not found in our strength but in God’s might.
Satan may be unseen, but he is not unnoticed. His tactics are real—discouragement, division, deception—but so is our authority in Christ. Stand firm, knowing that though the battle is spiritual, the victory is sure.
Reflection:
Don’t waste your energy fighting the wrong enemy. People are not your enemy—Satan is. Stay alert, stay armored, and stand strong in the Lord.
Prayer:
Lord God, open my eyes to the spiritual battles around me. Help me to stand strong, not in my own strength, but in the power of Your might. Clothe me daily in Your armor, and remind me that my real enemy is not people, but the forces of darkness. Strengthen me to walk in truth, resist the enemy, and live in victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
