Faith for The Heavenly!

Scripture:

“If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?”

Devotion:

These words from Jesus to Nicodemus reveal an essential spiritual principle: faith must begin with the basics before it can grow into the more profound truths of God. Jesus had just explained the need to be born again—a spiritual rebirth that Nicodemus struggled to understand, even when described in earthly terms.

Jesus essentially says, “If you can’t trust what I say about things you can see and relate to, how will you ever trust Me with the things beyond your understanding?” Many people desire deep spiritual insight but struggle with simple obedience and fundamental belief.

This verse challenges us to examine the foundation of our faith. Are we trusting God in the evident, simple truths of His Word? Are we obeying the known commands before we seek more profound revelations? Growth in grace and knowledge begins with a faithful response to what God has already shown us.

Reflection:

Before we can grasp the mysteries of heaven, we must submit to the message of the gospel. Believe Him in the little, and you’ll be prepared to trust Him with the greater.



Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me to believe and obey the truth You have already given. Strengthen my faith in the simple so that I may be ready to receive the deeper things of God. Teach me to trust You fully, and to walk in obedience every step of the way. In Your name I pray, Amen.
