Waiting With Hope!
Devotion by Pastor Shane - June 2, 2025
Scripture:
“But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”
Devotion:
Hope is not wishful thinking; rather, it is a confident expectation based on God's promises. In Romans 8, John describes how the believer waits with eager longing for the complete redemption to be realized—the day when all suffering will cease, and God's glory will be fully revealed in us. But in this life, there is a season of waiting.
Waiting is just never easy. It tests our faith and proves our endurance. Yet here, Paul reminds us that hope is the very thing that strengthens our patience. We waited upon God's promise when we did not see it; the same thing that has given us peace in our hearts is hope. This is no idle waiting. It is working out our active trust each day, believing that God will be faithful to His word, as He has said.
The believer's hope is not based on chance or change but on Christ. Although we may not see the entire picture at this moment, we know the One who holds the future. And that hope enables us to continue, to keep on trusting, and to wait with patience.
Reflection:
Are you in a season of waiting? Don't allow impatience to steal your peace. Fix your hope on God's promises. He sees He's aware, and He's working—even in the wait.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the hope I have in You. Teach me to wait with patience and trust, even when I cannot see the outcome. Help me to rest in Your promises, knowing that You are faithful to fulfill every word. Strengthen my heart and keep me anchored in hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
