The Habit of Persistent Asking!

The Habit of Persistent Asking
Scripture: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” (Luke 11:9)
Devotion: Jesus illustrates persistence in prayer. Prayer is not a single act but a continual habit—asking, seeking, knocking. Each word carries increasing intensity: asking is verbal, seeking is active, and knocking is insistent. God desires persistence not because He is unwilling to bless, but because perseverance shapes our dependence upon Him.
Spiritual growth comes when prayer is not an occasional cry but a consistent rhythm. The habit of persistence demonstrates faith, endurance, and trust in the Father’s good timing. When we persist, we are changed, and our desires are aligned with His will.
Prayer:
Gracious Father, give me the persistence to keep asking, seeking, and knocking. Shape my heart to desire what You desire and grant me patience to wait for Your perfect answer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
