The Example of Jesus!

Scripture: “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” — Matthew 9:36

Jesus consistently demonstrated compassion during His earthly ministry. When He saw people weary, broken, and lost, He did not turn away; His heart was stirred with love. Compassion moved Him to action—He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and taught the lost.

As followers of Christ, we are called to walk in His footsteps. Our compassion must be more than pity; it should motivate us to act. True compassion sees the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people and seeks to meet them in Christ’s name.

In a world filled with loneliness, despair, and wandering souls, the Church is called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Our willingness to care for others, even when inconvenient, becomes a powerful testimony of His love. Let us learn from Jesus, who not only felt compassion but allowed it to shape His actions.

Jesus, thank You for showing me the perfect example of compassion. Help me to see others as You see them—sheep in need of a shepherd. May I be moved to act with love and mercy in Your name. Amen.
