Compassion Through Giving!

Scripture: “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?” — 1 John 3:17

Caring for others often involves giving. It might be our time, our resources, or even our comfort. This verse challenges us to evaluate the sincerity of our love for God by how we respond to the needs of others. If we have the means to help but refuse, we contradict the very love we claim to possess.

Giving is an expression of God’s love flowing through us. Compassion cannot stay locked in the heart; it must be released in tangible ways. Sometimes it means offering food to the hungry, encouragement to the weary, or financial help to someone struggling. Even small acts of giving can become great blessings when done in love.

God’s economy is not based on how much we keep but how much we share. When we open our hands in compassion, we reflect the heart of God and make His love visible.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for all You have given me. Help me not to withhold compassion from others. Teach me to give generously, cheerfully, and sacrificially so that Your love may be seen in me. Amen.
