Seek First, Stress Less
Text: Matthew 7:7
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find…”
Stress multiplies when we carry burdens alone. Jesus invites us into a different way of living—a life of continual dependence through prayer. He doesn’t say “figure it out,” He says “ask.” He doesn’t say “search within,” He says “seek Him.”
Prayer is not just a religious duty—it is a stress reliever. When you pray, you are transferring the weight from your shoulders to God’s. You are acknowledging that you don’t have all the answers—and that’s okay.
Many times, we pray as a last resort instead of a first response. But Jesus teaches that seeking God first changes everything. The more we pursue Him, the less pressure we feel to solve everything ourselves.
God hears every prayer. Even when the answer is delayed, the peace is immediate.
Reflection Questions:
What burden are you carrying that you haven’t truly given to God?
How can you make prayer your first response instead of your last?
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to come to You first. Help me to seek You daily and trust that You hear every prayer. Lift the burdens I’ve been carrying alone. Amen.
