The Discipline of Perseverance

Scripture: Galatians 6:9

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Devotional

Spiritual disciplines are not one-time events; they are lifelong pursuits. The challenge is not usually starting—it is continuing.

Many believers begin with enthusiasm but struggle with consistency. Life becomes busy, discouragement sets in, and spiritual habits slowly fade. That is why perseverance is essential.

The Christian life is often described as a race, not a sprint. Growth takes time. Deep roots develop slowly. Faithfulness over years produces fruit that cannot be achieved through occasional effort.

God is not looking for perfection. He is looking for persistence. Every time you return to prayer, open His Word, worship, serve, or seek Him again after failure, you demonstrate perseverance.

Remember that spiritual disciplines are not about earning God's love. They are responses to His love. They position us to know Him more deeply and walk more closely with Him.

Some days will feel spiritually vibrant. Others may feel dry. Continue anyway. Faithfulness during difficult seasons often produces the greatest growth.

The harvest God promises may not come immediately, but it will come in His perfect timing. Keep planting. Keep praying. Keep seeking. Keep obeying.

A disciplined life rooted in Christ will produce fruit that lasts for eternity.
