Living With a Clean Heart
Scripture: “Every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself.” — 1 John 3:3
The hope of Christ’s return should lead believers toward holiness. When we truly believe Jesus is coming, we become more careful about how we live.
Sin dulls spiritual sensitivity. It clouds our fellowship with God and weakens our witness. That is why Scripture repeatedly calls believers to examine their hearts and repent quickly.
Living like Jesus is coming means refusing to become comfortable with hidden sin. It means dealing honestly with bitterness, pride, lust, dishonesty, unforgiveness, and compromise. God is not looking for perfection, but He does desire purity and repentance.
Many people want the joy of salvation without the surrender of holiness. Yet the closer we walk with Jesus, the more we desire to please Him. Holiness is not about legalism; it is about love. A person deeply in love with Christ does not want anything separating them from Him.
The return of Jesus reminds us that time is short. We should not delay repentance. We should not ignore conviction. We should not continue excusing what God is calling us to forsake.
God’s grace is greater than our failures. When we confess our sins, He forgives and restores us. What a mercy that God continues to cleanse and renew those who come honestly before Him.
