DAY 13 — Wise Men Still Seek Him
Scripture: “We have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” — Matthew 2:2 (KJV)
The wise men embarked on a lengthy journey guided by a star, motivated by their profound desire to worship the newborn King. Their expedition was not without cost, as it demanded significant sacrifice, unwavering effort, and remarkable endurance. However, they deemed every mile traveled as worth it for the chance to encounter Christ. Their determination exemplifies the lengths to which we should go in our spiritual pursuits. This journey serves as a powerful reminder that worship is an active pursuit; it requires intentionality, hunger, and humility.
Their example teaches us that true worship involves a quest; we draw nearer to Christ when we actively seek Him with our whole hearts. Those who genuinely pursue Him are invariably rewarded with His presence. When we seek Him with sincerity and dedication, we will always discover His love and grace waiting for us. This pursuit fosters a deeper relationship with Him and enriches our spiritual lives. In our seeking, we often find not just answers but also a profound sense of fulfillment and peace.
Application Questions
1. What does your spiritual pursuit look like this season?
2. What sacrifices might God be calling you to make to seek Him more fully?
Prayer
Lord, grant me a heart that seeks You with the same fervor as the wise men. Help me to pursue You wholeheartedly, setting aside distractions and devoting myself to Your service. Amen.
