Refusing Correction

Proverbs 12:15
"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise."

One of the greatest dangers in the Christian life is believing we are always right. Pride closes our ears to correction, while humility opens our hearts to growth. God often uses pastors, mentors, friends, and even difficult circumstances to reveal areas where we need to change.

A person who refuses correction remains trapped in their own perspective, but a wise person welcomes godly counsel because they desire truth more than being right. Spiritual maturity is not measured by how much we know, but by how willing we are to learn, repent, and grow.

Before dismissing advice or becoming defensive, ask yourself: "Could God be trying to teach me something through this?" A humble heart invites God's guidance and experiences His transforming power.

Prayer: Lord, give me a teachable spirit. Help me receive godly correction with humility and wisdom so that I may grow closer to You each day.
