David's Pain Over Betrayal
One of the deepest wounds David experienced was not from an enemy on the battlefield, but from someone he trusted. He wrote:
"For it is not an enemy who taunts me—I could bear that. It is not my foes who so arrogantly insult me—I could have hidden from them. Instead, it is you—my equal, my companion and close friend." — Psalm 55:12-13
Betrayal cuts deeply because it comes from those we have loved, trusted, and walked alongside. David knew the pain of broken trust, false accusations, and abandoned friendships. Yet instead of allowing bitterness to consume him, he poured out his heart to God.
If you have been wounded by someone close to you, remember this: God sees your pain. He understands your tears. The same God who carried David through betrayal will carry you as well.
Don't let betrayal make you bitter. Let it draw you closer to the One who will never leave you nor forsake you.
"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you." — Psalm 55:22
