PRIDE BEFORE THE FALL

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." — Proverbs 16:18

Pride has a way of convincing us that we don't need advice, correction, or even God's guidance. It blinds us to our weaknesses and makes us believe we are stronger, wiser, and more secure than we really are. The danger of pride is that it often grows unnoticed until the consequences become impossible to ignore.

Throughout Scripture, pride led to the downfall of kings, nations, and even Satan himself. What begins as self-confidence can quickly become self-dependence. When we stop leaning on God, we set ourselves up for a fall.

The truth is simple: what pride builds, pride eventually destroys. But God gives grace to the humble. A humble heart remains teachable, seeks God's wisdom, and recognizes that every blessing comes from Him.

Today, ask God to reveal any area where pride may be taking root. Choose humility, walk closely with the Lord, and remember that true strength is found in dependence upon Him.
