Our Hope Has a Name
Scripture
Hebrews 6:19
"Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast..."
Devotional
The world continually searches for hope.
Some place their hope in governments.
Others trust wealth, careers, relationships, or personal success.
Eventually, every earthly source of hope disappoints.
Only Jesus remains constant.
He is the anchor that keeps our souls steady when life's storms rage around us.
Hope is not wishful thinking.
Biblical hope is confident expectation based upon the unchanging promises of God.
Jesus conquered sin.
Jesus conquered death.
Jesus reigns today.
Jesus is coming again.
That changes everything.
No election...
No crisis...
No economic downturn...
No cultural conflict...
can separate believers from God's love or derail His eternal plan.
Our future is secure because our Savior lives.
As this series concludes, remember that peace isn't found in favorable circumstances.
Peace is found in a faithful Savior.
Keep your eyes fixed on Christ.
The world may remain uncertain.
But your hope never has to.
Reflection Questions
Where have you been tempted to place your hope besides Christ?
How can you intentionally encourage someone else with the hope found in Jesus this week?
