Day 20 – Love That Endures Testing
Scripture: 1 Peter 1:7
7
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Faith and love are often tested through trials and hardships. These challenges reveal whether our love is superficial or deeply rooted in trust and commitment to God. Trials serve to refine our love, strengthening our devotion and perseverance in the face of adversity. Enduring love clings to God despite uncertainty, holding fast to the promises He has given us.
Testing does not weaken genuine love; rather, it purifies and strengthens it. God uses difficult circumstances to deepen our dependence on Him and to refine our hearts for greater love and service. Through these trials, we learn to trust Him more fully, recognizing that His plans are ultimately for our good. As we endure, we find that our love grows richer and more resilient, enabling us to face challenges with courage and grace. The strength of our love is revealed in our ability to stand firm during life’s most testing moments.
Reflection Questions
How do trials affect my devotion?
What is God refining through difficulty?
How can I trust Him more fully?
Prayer
Lord, strengthen my heart through trials. Refine my love and deepen my trust in You. Help me to endure faithfully, knowing that You are with me every step of the way. Amen.
