Love That Changes Lives
Scripture: 1 John 4:19
“We love him, because he first loved us.”
At the heart of the Gospel is an incredible truth: God loved us first.
We did not have to earn His attention. We did not have to become good enough to deserve His grace. God reached toward us while we were still sinners and demonstrated His love through Jesus Christ.
When we truly experience that kind of love, it changes the way we see other people.
The love we have received becomes the love we give.
Sometimes we imagine that making a difference for God requires something extraordinary. But some of the greatest opportunities for ministry happen through ordinary expressions of Christlike love.
Listening to someone who is hurting.
Encouraging someone who feels forgotten.
Helping someone carrying a heavy burden.
Welcoming someone who feels like an outsider.
Sharing Christ with someone searching for answers.
These actions may appear small, but God can use them to open hearts.
Because of faithful believers who are willing to love people, more individuals can experience the compassion of Christ. We may be the first glimpse someone receives of what God's love looks like.
Never underestimate what God can accomplish through a life willing to love others.
Application:
Ask yourself, “Who can experience the love of Christ through me today?” Choose one intentional act of compassion—make a call, send an encouraging message, help someone in need, or spend time listening to someone who needs to be heard.
Closing Prayer:
Lord, thank You for loving me when I could never earn or deserve Your love. Let the love You have shown me overflow into the lives of others. Give me eyes to notice those who are hurting, lonely, or searching. Help me love people not merely with words, but through genuine actions that point them toward You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
