Scripture:

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth... He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
(John 16:13-14 KJV)

Devotion:

Life is full of decisions, distractions, and daily pressures—but Jesus promised that we are not left to navigate any of it alone. In this passage, He speaks of the coming of the Holy Spirit, the “Spirit of truth,” who would guide believers in the absence of Christ’s physical presence.

The Spirit does more than comfort us—He guides us. He leads us into all truth, not just spiritual facts but the truth for everyday life: the truth about who God is, who we are, what choices honor the Lord, and how to discern right from wrong in a confusing world.

One of the most vital ways the Spirit guides us is by continually pointing us to Jesus Christ. He doesn’t speak independently but reveals and reminds us of the words, ways, and will of Christ. If we are genuinely listening to the Spirit, we will always be drawn closer to the Savior—not further into self or the world.

In our daily walk, we need more than good intentions—we need divine direction. The Spirit is our personal Guide, Counselor, and Teacher. He helps us respond with grace, walk in wisdom, and live with eternal perspective.

When we pause to pray, listen, and yield, the Spirit will faithfully lead us—not into confusion, but into clarity and Christ-centered living.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,  Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to be my daily Guide and Teacher. Help me to listen closely to His leading and to follow the truth He reveals. Keep me from leaning on my own understanding. May my life glorify Christ as I walk in step with the Spirit. Teach me to trust Your voice above all others, today and every day.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
