Guarding Your Heart from the Noise

Scripture
Proverbs 4:23
"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."

Devotional
We live in the loudest generation in history. Every hour brings breaking news, endless opinions, social media debates, and countless voices competing for our attention.

Without realizing it, we can spend far more time consuming the world's fears than meditating on God's truth.
What repeatedly enters your mind eventually shapes your heart. If fear fills your thoughts, anxiety follows. If anger dominates your attention, bitterness often grows. If division becomes your focus, love begins to fade.
Solomon wisely instructed believers to guard their hearts because everything we do flows from them.

This does not mean ignoring reality or pretending problems don't exist. Christians should be informed—but not consumed. A believer should know what's happening in the world without allowing the world to dictate their emotional or spiritual condition.

Ask yourself a simple question: Am I spending more time listening to the news than listening to God?
God's Word has a way of calming hearts that headlines cannot. Prayer quiets fears that endless scrolling only amplifies.

Today, choose carefully what you allow to shape your thinking. Feed your soul with Scripture before feeding your mind with the latest headlines.

Peace begins with protecting what enters your heart.
