Don't Just Wear the Name—Follow the Savior

Don't Just Wear the Name—Follow the Savior

Scripture: John 10:27 — “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

At the end of the day, Christianity is not primarily about a religious label.

It is about Jesus Christ.

Jesus described His people very simply: “They follow me.”

That may be one of the clearest descriptions of authentic Christianity in Scripture.

Followers listen for His voice through His Word.
Followers trust Him.
Followers obey Him.
Followers sometimes stumble, but they get back up and continue following.
Followers don't simply admire Jesus from a distance—they walk with Him.

One day, every earthly label will become meaningless. What will matter is whether we truly belonged to Christ.

So don't settle for merely being known as a Christian.

Know Christ.
Walk with Christ.
Obey Christ.
Become like Christ.

And when you stumble, get back up and keep following Him.

Because Christianity was never supposed to be merely a name we wear.

It is a Savior we follow.

Think About It: If Jesus asked you today, “Are you following Me?” what would your life say?

Prayer: Jesus, I choose to follow You. Keep my heart close to You and my feet walking in Your ways. May Christianity never become merely a label in my life. Let my life demonstrate that I truly belong to You. Amen.

Series Takeaway
Being a Christian is more than claiming the name of Christ—it is knowing Jesus, surrendering to Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and following Jesus every day.
