Commissioned to Go!

Scripture: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” — Matthew 28:19–20

Devotion:  Jesus’ final command to His followers is not merely a suggestion; it is a divine commission that carries immense significance. The same Lord who has saved us now sends us forth into the world with a purpose. We are called to make disciples, not just converts, which entails sharing His message of love and grace rather than our personal opinions. Furthermore, we are to operate under His authority, relying on His strength rather than our own limitations. This mission is a reflection of our commitment to Him and His kingdom.

Accompanying this Great Commission is an incredible promise: “Lo, I am with you alway.” This assurance means that wherever we go, He goes with us, providing guidance and support in every situation. His presence empowers our mission and sustains our hearts, granting us the courage to step outside our comfort zones. Whether our journey takes us across the street or across the seas, we venture forth in the power of His promise, knowing we are never alone. This divine companionship transforms our outreach into a fulfilling experience, as we share His love with the world.

Prayer: Father, help me to live on mission today, embracing the calling You have placed on my life. Grant me the courage to share Your Word with those around me, the compassion to reach out to others in need, and the confidence to rely on Your constant presence. May my life reflect Your truth and love to the world around me, drawing others closer to You. Amen.
