Because He Lives

Scripture:
“Because I live, ye shall live also.” — John 14:19

Easter is not just a date on the calendar—it is the declaration of a living Christ. It is the triumphant cry that death has been defeated, the grave has been conquered, and hope has been secured forever. At the center of it all is this powerful promise from our Savior: “Because I live, ye shall live also.”

This is not merely a comforting thought—it is a life-defining truth.

Because He lives, our past can be forgiven. The resurrection proves that the payment Jesus made on the cross was accepted by God. Every sin, every failure, every regret can be washed away through the risen Savior. The empty tomb is Heaven’s receipt that the debt has been paid in full.

Because He lives, our present has purpose. We are not wandering aimlessly through life. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead now works in us. Our trials are not wasted, our pain is not pointless, and our struggles are not meaningless. God is using every moment to shape us, strengthen us, and draw us closer to Him.

Because He lives, our future is secure. Death is no longer a dead end—it is a doorway. The fear that once gripped humanity has been replaced with hope. The grave is empty, and because of that, our hearts do not have to be. We have the promise of eternal life, not based on our goodness, but on His victory.

Because He lives, we have new beginnings. What feels finished in your life may just be the place where God is about to start something new. The resurrection reminds us that God specializes in bringing life out of what seems dead. Broken relationships, shattered dreams, weary hearts—none of these are beyond His power to restore.

Because He lives, we can live differently. We don’t have to live in fear, defeat, or despair. We can live with boldness, with confidence, and with joy—because our Savior is alive. Every day becomes an opportunity to walk in resurrection power.

So when you face uncertainty, remember: Because He lives.

When you feel overwhelmed, remind yourself: Because He lives.

When you stand at the edge of what seems impossible, declare it again: Because He lives.

That truth changes everything.

Prayer
Risen Savior, thank You for the victory of the empty tomb. Thank You that Your life gives meaning to my life, hope to my future, and strength for today. Help me to walk in the power of Your resurrection. Teach me to trust You in every season and to live boldly because You are alive.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
