Day 4 – The Heart God Draws Near To

“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” - Psalm 34:18

God is drawn not to those who are perfect, but to those who demonstrate humility. A broken and contrite heart is one that recognizes its need for grace and mercy. While pride distances us from God, true humility draws Him near to us.

Many people resist the idea of brokenness because it feels like a sign of weakness. However, in Scripture, brokenness is portrayed as the doorway to restoration and renewal. It is a heart posture that acknowledges sin, seeks mercy, and fully depends on God for strength. When we approach Him with humility, God responds with forgiveness and the promise of renewal.

God does not despise a repentant heart; instead, He meets it with compassion, cleansing, and the hope of new beginnings. Brokenness is not a final destination—it is the starting point for healing and transformation.

Prayer
Merciful God, I come to You with a humble heart. Cleanse me, restore me, and renew my love for You. Thank You for meeting me with grace instead of condemnation. Amen.
