Redeeming The Time!
Devotion by Pastor Shane - June 13, 2025
Scripture:
“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
(Ephesians 5:16)
Devotion:
Time is one of God’s greatest gifts—and one of the most fleeting. In this short but powerful verse, Paul reminds us to “redeem the time.” That phrase means to make the most of every opportunity to use our time wisely and intentionally, especially in a world filled with evil and distractions.
We live in times when truth is often disregarded, righteousness is ridiculed, and spiritual apathy is widespread. Paul says that because the days are evil, we must walk carefully and live purposefully, making each moment count for Christ.
Redeeming the time means we don’t waste our lives on things that have no eternal value. It means prioritizing the Word, prayer, worship, service, and godly relationships. It means choosing what is right over what is easy and what is eternal over what is temporary.
Every day offers new chances to glorify God, serve others, and grow in grace. The clock is ticking—but the faithful Christian sees every tick as an opportunity to make a difference for the kingdom.
Prayer:
Lord, Help me to redeem the time You have given me. Teach me to use my days wisely, to prioritize what matters, and to live with eternal purpose. Keep me alert and faithful in a world that distracts and deceives. May each moment of my life bring glory to You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
