Contentment!
Devotion by Pastor Shane - April 25, 2022
Today it is very rare to find anyone genuinely content with their condition in life. The Bible has a great deal to say about contentment— being satisfied with what we have, who we are, and where we're going.
Many people want a bigger house, more expensive vehicles, more clothes, a bigger church, more money, etc. Someone approached me several years ago and asked if I was interested in being a pastor at a larger church. My response was that I am where God wants me to be and content in doing what He has asked me to do. Friend, the size of a church has nothing to do with my contentment. I am content because I am doing what God has called me to do.
If you are not content, perhaps it is time to re-examine your spiritual life and ask God to forgive you for not praising Him for what He has blessed you within your own life. Has it occurred to you that we don't deserve what we have? God has blessed me in my ministry, and I am very grateful for that. He has blessed me beyond imagination with so many opportunities. One of my life verses is what Paul said in Philippians 4:11: "I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content."
