Day 10 – Love That Speaks Truth

1 Corinthians 13:6
“Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.”

Biblical love is rooted in honesty. It speaks truth not to wound others but to heal and restore. Love that shies away from truth is incomplete, and truth without love can be harsh and damaging. God calls His people to practice both love and truth in harmony.

Speaking truth in love requires humility and discernment. It demands consideration of timing, tone, and intention. This approach seeks restoration rather than control, valuing the soul of another above our own comfort and preferences.

Truth spoken in love has the power to strengthen relationships and protect hearts from deception. Silence in moments requiring truth can be just as unloving as harsh words can be destructive.

Reflection Questions
  1.  Do I avoid speaking the truth to keep peace in my relationships?
  2.  How can I grow in my ability to speak truth lovingly and effectively?
  3.  Is there a conversation God is prompting me to have that requires honesty?

Prayer
God, teach me to speak truth with grace and love. Guard my heart from fear and my words from pride. Let love guide both my silence and my speech, that I may honor You in all I say. Amen.
