Love That Ran Toward the Cross"

God's Love — Romans 5:8
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

God's love is not reactive; it is profoundly proactive. He did not wait for us to clean up our acts or correct our ways before loving us. Instead, He loved us when we were unlovable, unreachable, and uninterested in Him. The cross stands as Heaven's loudest declaration: "You are loved—deeply, fully, eternally." This truth serves as a reminder of the boundless nature of His love.

Romans 5:8 reveals the magnitude of that love. The sacrifice of Christ was not an afterthought; it was the divine plan from the very beginning of time. His love stepped into our mess, carried our shame, and bore our punishment. It is a love that actively pursues, forgives, restores, and ultimately transforms lives. This understanding of love can reshape our identity.

When you feel unworthy, remember the cross. When you feel unloved, recall the Savior who willingly died for you. When you feel forgotten, reflect on the God who proved His love through sacrifice. These reminders are powerful tools in overcoming feelings of inadequacy.

You are loved not because of who you are, but because of who He is. His love is constant and unwavering, regardless of your circumstances or feelings. This love will never change, and it serves as the foundation of your identity as a beloved child of God.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for loving me before I ever loved You. Thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the power of Your redeeming love. Help me rest in this love and reflect it to others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
