GOD MADE YOU TO FEEL

Scripture: Psalm 139:14
"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

Have you ever wished you could just turn your feelings off? Maybe you've been overwhelmed by sadness, frustrated by something beyond your control, or hurt by someone you trusted. Perhaps you've even wondered why God made us capable of feeling things so deeply.

But here's something worth remembering: Your ability to feel isn't a flaw in God's design. It's part of His creation.

Think about it. God could have created us without the ability to experience joy, sadness, compassion, or even anger. Yet He intentionally made us with hearts capable of responding to the world around us.

Throughout Scripture, we see that even Jesus experienced deep feelings. He wept at the tomb of Lazarus. He showed compassion toward the crowds. He expressed righteous anger when God's house was being misused. And He experienced deep sorrow in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Jesus wasn't less holy because He felt deeply. His responses revealed His perfect love, righteousness, and humanity.

The problem isn't that we have feelings. The problem comes when we allow those feelings to become the authority over our lives.

Sometimes our feelings reveal something that needs attention. Sadness may remind us that we need comfort. Anger may expose an unresolved hurt. Compassion may reveal an opportunity to serve someone. Even frustration can show us an area where God is teaching us patience.

But we must remember that just because we feel something doesn't automatically make our interpretation of it correct.

God created our hearts, but He also gave us His Word to guide them.

Instead of asking God to take away everything you feel, begin asking Him to help you understand what you're feeling and respond in a way that honors Him.

Life Application: Don't be ashamed of what you feel. God created you with the capacity to feel deeply. The goal isn't to stop feeling but to surrender those feelings to the One who understands your heart completely.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me with a heart capable of feeling. Help me recognize what is happening within me without allowing those feelings to control my decisions. Teach me to bring everything I experience before You and respond according to Your truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
