Devoted to Service!

Scripture: Romans 12:11 – “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.”

Devotion:  Devotion is not solely about our feelings; it also encompasses our actions. A truly devoted heart naturally leads to devoted hands that serve others. Paul’s exhortation serves as a powerful reminder that our service to the Lord should be characterized by zeal, passion, and joy. When we approach our responsibilities with this attitude, we reflect the heart of Christ to those around us.

Whether we serve in the church, within our families, or throughout our communities, our acts of service are ultimately rendered unto the Lord. Genuine devotion does not seek recognition or accolades but instead looks for opportunities to reflect Christ’s love in tangible ways. A devoted servant works not for the applause of men but for the approval of Heaven, knowing that their labor in the Lord is never in vain.

Reflection: Am I serving God with enthusiasm, or do I approach my duties out of mere obligation? Is my service motivated by love for God and others or merely a sense of duty? Consider how your attitude impacts your service and the example you set for others.

Prayer: Lord, help me to serve You faithfully and joyfully. Let every act of service be an expression of my love for You. Keep my heart fervent and my hands ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
