Day 2 – A New Thing from God

Scripture: “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing…” (Isaiah 43:18–19)

As we step into a new year, it is common to find ourselves clinging to old memories—some cherished and others painful. However, God calls His people to let go of the past and look forward with a sense of expectancy. This call does not imply forgetting the works of God in our lives, but instead refusing to allow yesterday's experiences to dictate today's possibilities. Embracing this fresh perspective opens our hearts to the new beginnings God has planned for us.

God specializes in doing “new things” even in familiar places. He can create pathways in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, reminding us that even when life feels dry or directionless, He is still at work. What may seem impossible in our eyes is often the perfect stage for His power to be displayed. Trusting in His ability allows us to see beyond our current circumstances and anticipate His miraculous interventions.

The real danger does not lie in God's inability to work, but in our failure to perceive His movements. Unbelief, fear, and past disappointments can cloud our spiritual vision. God invites you to trust Him anew, believing that this year can be marked by His hand at work in ways you have yet to imagine. Opening your heart to this possibility can lead to profound transformation and renewed hope.

As you embark on this new year, take a moment to ask God to awaken your faith. Release what has been binding you to the past and open your heart to embrace what He desires to accomplish in your life today. This act of surrender is vital for receiving the new blessings and opportunities He has prepared for you.
